Rattan reeds perform better in aroma reed diffusers than bamboo. Although you can also use bamboo, rattan is better as it has empty channels inside which run from one end to the other, while bamboo has nodes inside the channels. The empty channels in the rattan reeds will enable your diffuser oil to travel up the channel while the nodes in the bamboo reeds impede its movement upwards and therefore prevent the efficient evaporation of the oils and your diffuser will not release as much scent.

I've found 5-6 sticks to be sufficient for a bathroom or an office, but you may want to use 8-10 sticks for a larger size room or when a stronger scent throw is desired.

The rattan reeds are approx. 3 mm in diameter and 30cm in length. Each reed stick has approximately 20 individual cells that run the entire length of the reed to allow the diffuser fragrance to run up the reed easily and produce maximum fragrance throw.
